On Jan. 1, 2006, John Wright, II, CLU, ChFC was named managing partner, succeeding retiring Managing Partner Bill Goodwin, CLU, ChFC. John is a second-generation Northwestern Mutual Managing Partner, his father is a Managing Partner in Champaign, Illinois. This is the first time in Northwestern Mutual's history a father and son have been Managing Partners at the same time.

Wright started his career with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network as an intern while attending the University of Illinois. He served as a College Unit Director and Field Director before he was appointment Managing Director of the Northwestern Mutual office in Kankakee, Illinois. For the past 2 years, Wright has been a member of the management development program at Northwestern Mutual's home office in Milwaukee. He has earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations.
